Hi all, what is the part number for a genuine oil filter for a 2005 Octavia TDI PD? Also what oil is recommended in this engine, I have read somewhere that it's 5/30 fully synthetic, Is that right? Thanks..

The oil should conform to VW 505.01 spec (fixed servicing) or 507.00 (variable servicing).

Genuine oil filter part number is 071115562c. But it's just a reboxed Mann filter part no HU719/7x, so save yourself a few quid and get one of these.

^^^^^^This applies equally to 1.9 and 2.0 PD engines......they both use the same filter and oils!
