Creaking front suspension

Featured Replies

Hi, I have had my fabia monte Carlo for 6 months and the front drivers side suspension creaks when I full lock it to the right. I have taken it back th the dealers and ther have replaced the top mont on the drivers side, had it back today and it is still the same. Has anybody had this problem?

Thanks mat

Hello Mat and welcome to the site. No, I've not had this problem but have seen it on many makes of car. Does the noise appear if with the steering straight ahead, you bounce the front of the car (don't push on the car bonnet or wings to do this, but open the bonnet and push on the front strut mounting or somewhere you won't stress anything that can bend). If so, it's definitely the front anti-roll bar bush on that side. It comes under stress when you go to full lock and the bush creaks in it's housing. Some rubber lube does the job. That's quite often what it is if it's not the top suspension mount.

Edit: there are other things too such as the steering rack itself, it can even be slightly loose but the techs will have checked that I would have thought. But that's not the first thing to look at.

HI Matt,

Even i have experienced the same, when i turn to the right completely and the road height is a steep upward(uneven), i hear a click(Cut-Cut) kind of a sound, like as though the car is breaking bones, i do not know if it's normal. I will get this checked this service. Hope things should be fine
