just bought a new Skoda Fabia SE

Featured Replies

Hi everyone.

Tuesday 21 of May. Just bought a new Skoda from Alex Lawrie; a Fabia SE, 14 miles on the clock and a loverly petrol blue. Got to say the no sales pressure, bags of info' makes a welcome relief from other sale situations. Top marks to Eamon Walsh et al. ))

Thursday 23 of May took it out for a short run and felt like a learner driver, checking the tacho against gear and speed looking for the optimum fuel efficiency, (wife and I are pensioners after all) with swiftest travel. If my good lady was prepared to ride pillion I would have argued for a Triumph Rocket 3, 2300 cc but it cannot be. So it is a 1200 cc motor car alas.

Still, happy with our purchase thus far.

I'll keep y'all posted.

So tell us more! I assume it's the 1.2TSi? Did you go DSG or Manual? Pictures are always welcome too.

Well it's a manual shift this I know. I like automatics but the wife doesn't and she is the boss. I never realised there were so many variants of the Fabia until we had made the purchase. All I can tell you is that to my mind this a plain vanilla Fabia 1.2 SE.

The more I drive it though the more I'm beginning to like it. Changing from a decade old Astra 1.7 diesel that we've had from new is a culture shock. I'm still trying to come to terms with the terminology never mind the 1.2 three pot petrol lump! Wife is in recovery from a serious illness but is looking forward to taking her rightful place (as she sees it) at the wheel. Got to confess I enjoy 2 wheels and some serious cc between my thighs than a tin box with 4 wheels.

Cheers
