Stratched glass

Featured Replies

Giving the interior of the car a clean the other day, I have discovered a scratch on the glass on the quarter light on the offside rear door! :( It is hardly noticeable but is about 3 inches long! I have no idea how it came about as it is almost perfectly straight.

Any suggestions on removing it?

I get annoyed by the people who always shout "you need a machine" when ever a scratch is mentioned, but in this case your looking at rotary (preferably) with a rayon pad and some Ceri Glass (cerium oxide), takes a while and can get messy. Have you tried asking an autoglass repair shop alternatively as it's only the quarter section it may be cheaper and easier to either get one from a scrap yard or new from a dealer if you can't live with the scratch.

Yes...I would do the same

It wont be that much..Polishing glass is a pita

Thanks for replies. I guess that a replacement is probably the answer as removing scratch will be a pain in the ass! Or I just live with it along with the other stone chips and scratches that its gained in 31000 miles.

My mother has butchered her windscreen with one of those cheap ice scrapers. It's actually dangerous as you go up our hill in the evening and you can't see with the sun bouncing off all the scratches.
