Hi guys, just recently got a 2004 octavia vrs in black magic, previous owner has stage 1 mapped it and fitted a forge 007p dv. I am about to fit a milltek exhaust with 200 cell cat and 2.5" downpipe. Im needing advice on what coilovers to get with a £500 budget, and are there any issues with a 50mm drop? One of my mates suggested ap coilovers, are these any good?

Congrats on the purchase :-) I've not done anything to my Octy yet, but i have heard/read around the Threads that a 50mm drop should be ok,

depending on the wheel offsets in terms of arch rubbing. and ive seen AP coilovers mentioned more than a few times, so they must be alright!

APs have mixed reviews TBH. And 50mm is quite a bit for the VRS considering they are already 25mm lower than none VRS cars. Check latest prices on Weitecs as these are far better than AP. AP get crashy when lowered too much. I have had a number of different suspension set ups over the years on my octy. Currently on KWs but I would rate Weitecs as next favourite.

I agree with weitecs, fitted them to mine and the ride comfort is good, the wife noticed when I fitted a rarb but still hasn't noticed that I've fitted coil overs, despite the car being lower lol
