Does this sound about right to you?

Was going to keep the fabia but I keep looking at the octavia vrs and with a baby on the way I want something bigger. Would be looking at a trade in at skoda dealership. Does the £3,500 from parkers sound about right. My fabia is a 2005 and just clocked over 60k in red with anthracite wheels.

Probs about right, insurance offered me £3,200 for my 06 56k vrs

For an 8 year old car with average miles?

Yep, that doesn't seem too far off the mark.

Have a look at the "value your car" facilities on Vauxhall's website for a free Glass's check.

I'm sure some of the other manufacturers did the same thing - ford rings a bell but I can't see it now.

Trade in will depend what kinda car/amount of money your spending. Also where your trading, a Skoda dealer isnt going to put a 8 year old Fabia on the forecourt so it will be worth very little to them, on the flip side a decent independent "vag" specialist would probably give you top trade in price providing its in decent condition. If you want to get a car from a dealer then just see what deal you can get, dont get hung up on what your offered on paper for the Fabia, it's about the cost to change thats important. You might only get £3000 for the Fabia but if they knock £2000 off the Octavia you'll be better off.

Just checked on vauxhall and they say around £3,225-£3,500 not to bad really. Wanted £4,000 but would take £3,500 as car needs new cambelt this year

Very true, hoping to pop down to my local skoda garage today and have a talk.
