Thanks and "Review"

So I got my alloys on Friday night.......

Big thanks to Piv34UK for guidance and feedback on tyre sizes, as well as others who chipped in to point me back to the car and tyre bible.

I took all the advice to heart, and ditched the 5-spoke choices....

I'm now rolling along on 17" Fox Evo 3's (crystal finish). Ok, not exactly an up-market name brand I guess, but hey.......if it looks good.......

A few things i've noticed though since....

1. Handling - steering is heavier. Wider tyres (225/45) I suppose. But it's suits my preferred feel - it always did seem too light before. Also, with the extra grip comes more "linear" and progressive acceleration, rather than the car always feeling like it was about to take off when you stamp on the loud pedal.

And....body roll greatly reduced due to wider stance.

2. No impact on mpg. Some ppl (not on here btw) suggested fuel consumption penalties. Balderdash i say. No change at present...

3. they look great on the car but...

I really fancied the fives spokes, but thought they'd show off the piddly brakes too much. So these seemed better. And they are. But...they're gonna be a pig to keep clean....Washed and waxed them on saturday - already look manky......lol

And yes, I know:

:wrthless:

Will try and sort that out for tmr. :P

Good choice :) .......got em on me Furbie vRS in titanium colour

im sorry mate but they just dont do it for me at all.
