did you check the top mounts

top mounts have been checked and look fine

Brakes don't knock, they squeal, hum, maybe rattle. Things to check are engine mountings, broken springs, suspension bushes, ARB droplinks, shock absorbers, loose wheelnuts. That'll keep you busy for a while.
