A little bit more oomph for a little bit cash?

Featured Replies

Hi folks, I was wondering if there are any reletivly cheap mods I can do on my 1.9 TDI to get a few extra horses out of it? Anything that members on here have done to their cars that were not too expensive and not too outrageous? I want a it to be a bit quicker off the mark and a bit better for overtaking..

Many thanks

Eddie

Basically and simply and concisely and truly, paying for a remap is the best "bang for buck" everything else to a point is sort of pi**ing into the wind when it comes to what you get for your money. Spend £300-£400 on a proper remap and enjoy.

EVRY mod?

Remap... Though IMO "off the mark" requires technique rather than more power. I find slightly increasing revs as the opportunity (to pull out) nears helps a lot. Nothing much, just around 1K rpm. Hold car on handbrake if needed.

Weight loss is the cheapest route to going quicker!

Decent set of tyres to be able to put down the power.
