After a part

Featured Replies

Anyone know where I can purchase a replacement two pin electrical connector housing, part number 443 906 231, please. I have tried Google, Skodaparts.com and eBay as well as the local dealers who said it didn't exist on their system. I am pretty sure it does though as there are plenty of references to it online.

The only place I can find it online is a US or Canadian store, with silly postage costs for such a small part.

If anyone knows a place to buy this I'd be grateful.

Thanks

Adam

No offence to anybody here that works in a parts department but in my experience most of them havn't got a clue how the parts work, what they do or where they are. If you havn't got a valid part number you're *uc**d. The excuseses ive heard are unreal...'you must have had an engine change'...'we've sold lots of those and never had a return, it should fit'...'it's not on our system it must be a modification'...and so on.

I use my local dealer (ALS Autos - Ely) for any parts I need and find them excellent.

I never know the part numbers I'm after (unless someone here has posted them) so I'm always emailing them descriptions. My last one was:

"Screws to hold in the numberplate light housings" - so OK, not the hardest thing to find in the world, but 3 days later they were in and ready for collection.

...the local dealers who said it didn't exist on their system...

No idea what the problem is here. It's a standard part - £2 retail including VAT.

Thanks guys I thought it should be. It apparently didn't come up on the computer when I gave the number. They assumed it was part of a bigger loom sold as a whole.

Did they actually mean "its time to go home in 5 minutes, and I'll be damned if I'm going to walk all the way over there to get a plug"

I had a seat dealer tell me they couldn't look up parts based on a registration plate and would have to have the car on site in order find the correct part. This was about 10 minutes before they closed one Saturday. The other dealer near me did it over the phone...

Yeah kind of my feeling too but I saw him tap the number in to be fair. The regular parts guy wasn't in which didn't help...
