1.2 TSI 105 - what is the maximum long term fuel trim (ltft)

Featured Replies

Hi!

Does anybody know what is the maximum LTFT value that the 1.2 TSI 105 engine allows before giving engine failure light? I am testin running on partly ethanol, and would very much like to know how high I can go before the engine throws errors at me. The maximum I have seen so far is +22%, but I am very interested in knowing if I am nearing the max, or if I can have even higher ethanol mix.

Answer to myself as nobody else seems to know: When the LTFT was repeatedly above +30% I got the engine fail light. When I added a few litres of petrol the fuel trim is mostly in the range of 22-25%, with the occasional ~30% peak, and this seems to be working fine without engine error codes.

Probably didn't get an answer as we don't really use biofuels etc in the UK much.

Do Skoda say it ok to run on ethanol then?

Not really :) That is why I could not ask them directly
