Hi.

SWMBO has just bought s car and the air con fan doesn't work. Is this needed? She took it to a slightly shady garage who said you don't need a fan and it'll be fine.

If it has a fan then I'd expect it to work. It was installed for a reason...

Yes it needs it to pull air over the condenser.
