Chirps

Featured Replies

Ok go easy i'm new lol, just bought a Fabia vrs a week ago, when i turn off the ignition & remove the key the car sounds 3 pairs of chirps.

I can't remember if it did this when i test drove it or if its always done it (age thing) or have i done something to it to cause this, checked the handbook nothing mentioned everything seems to work,no chirps on start up car locks & unlocks ok but everytime it does it i'm waiting for some sort of apocalyptic doom to begin.

Any ideas anyone.

Thanks in advance.

Does it happen when you use the key to remotely lock the car? Either way its the most annoying thing ever, don't blame you for wanting it turned off!

No its when the key is removed from the ignition & before you exit the car,its not the horn the chirps are internal electronic beep burp type.

Does it have an aftermarket stereo?

yes came with one fitted.

It maybe the stereo reminding you that the fascia is still on and hasn't been removed. I had a JVC one a few years back that did it. Put your ear by it to see if its that, if it is remove the face-off before you turn the ignition off and it will stop.

Sony stereos do it.

Ah its a Sony, will have its face off & see if that cures it.

Thanks to all who took the time to reply.
