Electric windows not working properly

Featured Replies

I cannot control the passenger window from the driver side all the time, sometimes it does a bit up but stops.

I've done a reset on the window toggles by holding them up. I've replaced the fuse. Not sure what it is. Any help?

Works fine from passenfer side.

Hi, what is this window reset. I am having probs with drivers window sometimes up sometimes not. Can you explain what this does. I am no mechanic but I would consider replacing the switching unit or cleaning the connections if possible. Thanks.

I'm no mechanic either but usually when the windows stop working its a very bad sign since the little "rotors" inside the window's dash are about to burn... It actually happened to me once, I ended up replacing the front electric windows with manual ones because replacing the electronics cost around $500 each! I rather use that money fixing my crappy suspension lol...

this could be a switch problem. it's very easy to swap out a new pair so get yourself some from a scrap yard or eBay.

it's then a case of removing the rear bit of handle then the front bit that the switches are in.

failing that it could be your carrier about to fail which is a pain but it can be done with patience.

Will have a gander at the switches then. Will prob leave it for a few days, bit busy but will post up once I've had a try with that.

Just wind the windows up fully, and then hold the switch at the up position for about 10 seconds. Seems like a good first step just because it's easy :p
