How to remove window switch

Featured Replies

How do I get to the window switch to change it as its broken do I have to remove hole door card ?

No. Lever up the rear of the switch surround carefully with something that won't mark the plastic. The clips on the seat side will disengage quite easily. Pull up the seat side so you can see inside. On the door card side you will see

Take a long screwdriver and press it against the plastic tab protruding, just to the right and below the screw in the photo. At the same time lift the back of the surround. Comes up easily.

Disconnect the wiring then gently prise open up the little box surrounding the switch to disengage the bits on the side of the switch and take it out.

Or use a long thin flat head screw driver and insert it through the small hole at the bottom of the handle. Use it to release the clip closest the door (as seen in the above pix) once you do that it simply lifts off causing no damage. :)

I've just removed it by cutting an inch wide strip of plastic, from a 5 litre oil bottle and sliding in from above. Attack at the gap between the door card and the handle\switch assemble.

Took less than 20 seconds on my first attempt.

My question is what size of the torx screws likely to be?
