raised bootHatchbag Boot Liners - What Type of Boot Do I have

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 2012 Yeti and 3 day old 2013 Octavia Scout. I've been very impressed with the Hatchbag boot liners seen on this site, but having looked at their website have got slightly confused.

Seems you can have two types of boot, standard or raised - I thought I had standard, although some comments intimate that if you have a hidden spare I actually have a raised floor?? Both of these vehicles are standard or so I thought??

If it helps the boot floor isn't in line with the boot opening, they're both about 6" or so down. Octavia has a full sized spare and the Yeti a spacesaver.

Any advice gratefully rec'd.

I guess it'll be an expensive mistake if I get it wrong!

Cheers,

Danny Boy

In the Yeti, at least, if the boot floor is as you say, and below the level of the boot lip, you do not have the raised floor.

No idea about the scout but at a guess dismay the same applies.

A trip to the octavia scout forum might get a better answer to that one.

If the floor is about 6" down on the Yeti, then there is no room for a spare, as the only way a spare can fit is if the floor is raised to the level of the boot lip.

The Octavia is different. On the standard Octavia there is a well for a full size wheel, and then you can have a raised floor to bring the boot floor level with the boot lip. I seem to remember there were gaps either side by the wheels. I don't know if the scout is the same, because it has the Haldex unit somewhere around there.

For the a yeti take a look in the yeti technical section at the tyre and rim guide. I think there are photos there, there are also some in my project which can be accessed by clicking on my link in my signature.

Lift the grey floor if there's a spare it's under it you have a raised floor if you don't find a spare you don't have a raised floor. I bought a rubber insert for my yeti had the logo and everything is nothing like the shape of the boot! so sent it back.
