Will 15" Wheels fit An Octavia MkII instead of 16" ?

Featured Replies

Further to a recent message I've found someone selling a set of steel wheels from a VW Touran. I was wondering if these would fit in place of my 16" alloys for winter use ? I found an online calculator which saod that 255/60 R15 tyres on the 15" rims woyuld be the same diam as the 255/55 R16's on my alloys. Any suggestions ??

Depends on your brakes.

I know the VRS can't use anything smaller than 16s.

Dont know about the steel wheels but my octy 2 1.9tdi is on 15" alloys as standard.

I think only the VRS needs 16s and all others should take 15s. Mine came with 15s as standard and I have 15" steels.

How big a part does the offset play ? The VW Touran ones have a 47mm offset. The Skoda ones are recxommended 35-38.

ET 47 is the correct offset for an Octavia with 15" (and I think 6J wide) steels.

My 2012 Elegance came standard with 15" alloys. Doesn't exactly feel like 2012, but at least it's comfortable.

I have a set of 15" steels from a Seat. They are 47 and 6j. Be careful because some wheels are 5/110 and some 5/112 the bloke I bought my wheels off had bought the wrong set for his and hence I bagged a bargain.

195/65-15" is one of the homologated sizes for my 2012 1.6CRD so they should fit (I hope so: I've already bought a bargain 15" Audi set of steel wheels+winter tyres for approx 100£)
