That's a bit embarressing.

Fortunately he's a whizz at car/chassis design.

ISTR that he also drives (or used to drive) "classic F2", and GTs. Either way, it meant that he needed an international competition licence, and you can only get one of those by getting signatures on a national licence, and you can only get those by racing safely.

He won something paired with Martin Brundle recently. Newy loves his calassic racers and he has a nice collection of them.

If you ever driven on pro racing tyres you know there's zero grip until they warm up so for less experienced ones this is not so strange. Might heve been a greasy patch - who knows? Still embarassing tough :giggle:
