Ive just emptied the coolant on a seat arosa and refilled but sure more came out than I put in so I think may be air in it ? How do I remove it or will it come out of its own accord whilst driving and fill it in at side of road

Have you started it?

Let it idle and keep topping it up.

you need to burp the system Seb, this should show you the rough idea, don't worry about the funnel bit it'll just be a bit messier.

Thank wap but there's no bleed on a seat arosa ? I think ? , so I've put in roughly 4 litres of coolant , it has gone down a bit and topped up just over max on the expansion tank , seems ok :) heater works a treat and no leaks :) ( so far) ,I think as alpha papa says run it and check it , top up as required and eventually it will vent and will be fine

You do not want it over Max,

you want it over Min.

If it is going to self bleed, its going to need to get up to heat with the thermostat open.

Its needing up above 90*oC to bleed.

(go for an easy run on quiet roads,

with extra Coolant and a Mobile phone, do not just sit with an engine running on a driveway.)

Then stop and park when home,

leave alone and do not open the Tank Cap.

Let the Coolant Expend and then cool down and fill the system & hopefully be bleed.

Then when cold see where the level is.

?? What coolant have you used?
