wanted: VAG software etc.

Featured Replies

Hello out there,

I`m looking after 1995 petrol Ford Galaxy, and a 1998 Seat Alhambra 1.9 diesel (a non runner at the moment). They`ve both got the sixteen pin diagnostic socket fitted, however, considering the ages of them, I suspect that VAG would be used. I`ve plugged an OBD II code reader but don`t get any connection. So if anybody out there has the requisite VAG cable(s) and software etc.they no longer use I`d be willing to purchase it from them. Unless I`ve got it all wrong about using VAG of course!

Thanks, Sleary

The Ford will still use the Ford ecu iirc, so vcds won't work. Only on the Seat.

The ones with vw engines like the vr6 model can be read with vagcom, but the ford petrol engines use a ford ecu.. Obd2 is too new for those, it needs to be obd1 reader if you want to use a generic code reader.
