Aircon error code 4FA

Featured Replies

Hi,

I recently had my car in the dealers for various work, I was then offered an aircon service, so thought I'd go for it. Since getting the car back and this hot weather I've noticed it isn't getting as cold as it should and it take a few minutes for it to start going cool. The compressor would seem to be working as I hear the engine note slightly change when it kicks in. Anyway I found out how to run the diagnostics within the Climatronic unit, after the test completes I get 4FA 00 on the display. I've since found out that is saying something is wrong with the Recirc Flap Motor. I'm not getting any funny noises or anything. Question is does anyone know where this is located? I've heard I maybe able to disconnect and leave the recirc valve open which is an option.

I spoke to the dealers before I found out about the diagnostics as I though the compressor had gone, they've offered to check the pipes etc. But when they did the work they said all they did was take out the coolant and replace with same amount. It seems they didn't run any diagnostics and also didn't check that the aircon was working. In my mind this is an aircon re-gas, not an 'aircon service'.

Has anyone ever had the recirc flap motor replaced before by a dealer? Just wondering what's involved and cost etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
