As title, :

Changed my breather pipes ( Y Pipe, lower crankscase breather etc) but upon doing so broke off the plastic 90 degree elbow pipe that connects to the block near the oil cooler:

I can not seem to figure out how to get the broken bit out, it snapped right on the join:

there is a long clip-type thing which can be pulled out.. but unsure how / what / where etc

Ive managed to bodge the rest of the system using lots of things I found around the shed, and the car runs sweet as a nut :) I will of course be getting a new elbow bit (on express order for tomorrow morning) and a new dipstick tube which as predicted snapped off too... (also bodged this with some tubing and some tape) along with some more hose connectors and jubilees ( managed to cobble the whole system together tonight)

Main Question is:

How to do I go about getting the remains of the elbow bit out of its socket / hole.... picture is attached... and how does that large clip thing come out ...

Do I need to buy a new o-ring / grommet (if there is one)

Pictures:

The one with many pipes in: It is the furthest left centre pipe, below the box of clips.. The close up shows the hole and the snapped off bits

I Only went out to sort the Secondary Air Pump and ended up covered in oil and cut to bits 6 hours later LOL

The pump will be fixed at a later date :p

Thanks in advance Guys

Rob

Oo those pipes are in a state!

The clip pulls out towards the front of the car. You might need to lever the first bit with a screwdriver or something.

The the plastic should just lift out.

A new O-ring would probably be a good idea.

thanks for speedy reply ... do I just ask them for a new o ring for that bit or does it have a part number ... Im less in a hurry to repair it now as my bodging seems to have got it running well for the time being .... You say the clip just pulls all the way out toward front of car?

If there an uprated silicon part I can get to stop this happening again?

I got my replacement bits from Creation Motorsort (as u may be able to see in pics) And found them extrememly helpful when I got these bits last year.

Im after some metal hose conector parts too ( like that comes with the kit) if anyone knows where I can find a selection..

Cheers :)

I'm not sure if there's a silicone version. There are metal adapters like I have. Expensive though for what they are:

Goodness Gracious!!

Are plastic hose connectors ok for joining up the pipes which are the same size??

I used one of the broken parts to join 2 of the new bits together earlier but want to do it properly at a later stage,

I know U can buy a bag of assorted sizes from various places, are these ok or is something more heavy duty recommended

I used a plastic T-piece for ages. I think it was water pipe with push-fit ends. They don't get that hot so should be okay but will presumably go brittle eventually like the stock ones.

Excellent, Thank You so much for your help!!

I will report back on the Secondary Air Pump fix (unless I end up doing something else and getting dostracted like today)

Cheers!
