Fuel system and injector cleaning

Featured Replies

OK folks, this may have been covered before, but here goes anyway.....

I have a 2009 TSI VRS with a recently replaced engine, but the original ancillaries were fitted when the engine was replaced.

The car has now done about 44K miles and, even though I use Shell V-Power or Tesco Momentum petrol, I was thinking about getting the fuel system cleaned by adding one of the many advertised fuel system cleaner additives to a couple of tanks of petrol.

Has anybody tried any of these and noticed a difference, and if so what do you guys think might be the best.

Thanks for the updates...

Cheers

I've used Forte twice. Noticed a quieter idle but it didn't prevent me from needing a turbo refurb.

I've read a lot about additives and if your are using the premium fuels already I can't see what benefit additives will give you.

If you use Quality fuels which contain cleaners etc you wont notice much of a difference as the engine is already clean.

If you use supermarket sh1te there could be a noticable difference

Stick a new fuel filter in and if you want to speak to a garage about whether it's appropriate to put forte in the fuel filter housing when you put a new filter in.
