Random Stalling

Featured Replies

morning all

ive done a quick search and couldnt find anything so far.

My VRS (2006 so a PD170) has a tendancy to stall when you slow to a stop for a junction, roundabout etc

Its not all the time, just on the odd occasion. I think in the last week its done it twice which is more common than normal.

I've not seen the DPF light for a few weeks so im hoping its not that.

The cars daily drive is only a few miles but it always gets a good run at weekends or evenings so its still doing the miles. (bought in november on 67k now on 76k)

Anyone had similar?

Im going to a friends house tonight who has VCDS so we will be giving it a scan and see what pops up but just wondering if anyone has have experience with this or similar happening and what might have cured it?

I have had the same problem on mine aswell. It will cut out for no reason when slowing to turn a corner of for traffic etc .It only does it now and again and will start strait up no problem after ,

no lights to indicate a problem come up on the dash .I have had 2 vcds scans done and no faults come up at all ,anyone with any ideas please as to what it could be.

When was the fuel filter last changed ?

I couldnt say tbh

Done a scan and not a single error

I had suddenly had issues with my PD VRS stalling last weekend when coming up to junctions. Took it to the dealers and they identified an issue with a solenoid that controls some flaps in the inlet manifold. Replaced solenoid and car is running sweet now and seems a lot smoother than before.
