suspension issues

Featured Replies

right lads!

I had a broken front left spring on the car (1.8t vrs saloon) and since the shocks where near the end of there life I decided to fit 2 springs 2 shock and 2 topmounts

all genuine parts.

while the broken spring was in the car the font left (where the broken spring was) used to make a noise when turning the steering wheel, probably the spring slipping when turning.

after fitting all the new parts the same side is making the same noise!!

on inspection it appeared that when the shock and coil where turning the coil was not turning smoothly but skipping on the topmount

basically I want to know what have I done wrong?? bare in mind new shocks, springs and top mounts have been fitted

my fear is the by driving the car i could brake a brand new spring

has this ever happened to anyone?

cheers cill
