External temperature display

Featured Replies

I apologise in advance if this should be in the ICE section but it specifically relates to the Columbus unit in the Yeti.

We picked our L&K up about 2 weeks ago and love it, however we can't for the life of us work out how to display the outside temperature on the Columbus unit?

Every single Skoda I've ever driven displays the outside temp on the radio, with the exception of this one it seems. We've got the time to display (although this isn't permanent as it never reappears if you change the radio station) but can't even find an option to display the outside temp.

Obviously we can see the outside temp in the MFD on the maxidot but the radio eludes us. Anyone got this to work??

You might have more luck in ice. There will be more columbus owners than you'll find in the yeti section. I know you can't show it on the bolero

Not found any way of doing that on my Columbus or on the previous Bolero.

It isn't possible.

Change it for a Swing, if you want the external temp there.

On a more serious note, get the car looked at by somebody with VCDS.

They can change the country setting to Australia. You can then swap the km/h for the external temp on the Maxidot.

Check my Yeti in the Yeti Project section, or click the link in my signature for more details.

LOL, I'm not THAT desperate to see the external temp, just annoying that it isn't there. I do actually have the Swing radio in my Fabia MkII vRS, which is a decent head unit but not in the same league as the Columbus.

I can already see the external temp on the Maxidot albeit not permanently, depending on which selection in the MFD you happen to be looking at. I'd rather not change the km/h reading to a temperature readout as I need this for driving abroad (although I'm sure you'll tell me there is another way of getting a km/h readout even with this mod?!)

Thanks for the input anyway, at least I know it's just not possible on the Columbus and that it isn't me being uncoordinated!

Oh, the temp reading is on all the time in place of the km/h, so i can still see the route instructions on the maxidot as well, but can be changed when stationary with the maxidot.
