Sounds like the turbo

Hi guys hope a are well!! A couple of months ago I noticed a high pitched noise as I was going round islands in 2nd gear about 2500 rpm and above, as times gone on I notice it a the time once I hit 2500 rpm I hear the noise in the first 3 gears and to be honest it almost sounds like metal on mental also if i drop the clutch i can hear it but it drios with the pitch of the engine . So this morning I took my vrs to bvr in longton and took the mechanic for a spin and he said he could hear it and it sounded like the turbo spinning up but said he didn't think there was a problem and that I should monitor it ... What do you think all as Im concerned about the sheer cost of turbo replacement ... Anyone got any opinions as its doing me nut in!!
