Exhaust difference 1.8t pre facelift and after

Featured Replies

Been looking for either a turbo-back or cat-back exhaust and all I can find are for 2000+ (post facelift) models. I know the turbo is different but is there any difference other than that? Because the downpipes for say AGU or AUM are interchangeable so if there are no other differences there shouldn't be a problem?

I didn't think the turbo was different - K03 vs K03S maybe?

I thought all 1.8T downpipes were the same.

The ko3 and ko3s dp are the same mate your correct rob.

Pre and post fl octavias dps should fit fine.

Yeah I know the downpipe fits on both turbo's, I'm thinking more from the cat down to the tailpipe, like is there a difference there with mounting points, shape of the pipes etc?

90% sure that all vRS turbos were the same, differences were between vRS and non-vRS cars.

The cars were all the same dimantions bar a few mm cosmetically.

vRS was facelift only anyway.

Only different with 4x4 1.8t

And what differences between vRS and non-VRS then exhaust wise?

There is no difference regarding 1.8t exhaust fitment to a VRS. The VRS has Stainless system as std with polished chrome back box Pipe section where the 1.8t does not. The VRS has K03s turbo where the pre 2001 and none 1.8t 4x4 have a K03 150hp tutbo. Rest of differences are cosmetic and interior so you will have no issues fitting a vrs exhaust to your motor

The vrs exhaust is stainless as standard?

Surely a typo there?

Mild steel the whole way with chrome letter box tip for vrs?
