Find someone who can read the fault codes on the VCDS owners map

I have a scanner at work that that i can plug into but its always come up with sometimg related to the n75

Anything more specific? N75 is the vacuum control box, and is probably key to why the turbo isn't working sometimes. The N75 controls the vacuum which controls the position of the actuator/VNT vanes in the turbo.

If the actuator arm itself had been wound out would that cause linp mode? I will get the code when i plug it in an post the mode up

Bad remap?

  • Author

It happened before the remap and if it was a bad map think it would have showed up on the rr

Who's been fiddling with the actuator arm? You don't normally mess with that unless you know exactly what knock on effect it has on how the vanes open/close inside the turbo!

You need to log specified boost vs actual and look at your dmap cycle! Should be hitting 80 at around 4000rpm

You need someone with vcds

I dont no if its worth mentioning after a while the eng man light goes off! And the actuator arm was adjusted at the time off map to hold boost a bit better

Shouldn't be adjusting the actuator arm! They are set from the factory!

Sounds like a bit of a bodge! You really need to take it to someone who knows what they are doing!

Whats the engine light on for? A decent mapper can map out the egr valve! If you've deleted that??

  • Author

Egr is mapped out the car went into limp mode a long time before the actuator was touched

So whats this CEL for then?

And who mapped it?

  • Author

Its the engine management light that comes on and a guy from stokely big fish tuneing

Well does that not tell you that you have an issue? CEL (check engine light)

As far as im aware big fish tuning are alright!

You need to get the fault codes scanned asap!

Ye gona do it tomoro at wrk wil post results

Yeah thats the first port of call

Google the fault code when you get it and the world wide web will let you know the possible causes

Thanks alot fella will report back tomoro

Its also not uncommon for new maf sensors to go faulty too!

I changed numerous items for it to be a dodgy maf! That sorted my limp mode

I feel for you, problems like this properly drive you right to the very edge of sanity.

Going to do that tomoro the most annoying thing is it only does it in longer journys
