Replacing Electric window lifter with or without motor

Featured Replies

Hi

I am new to this forum and looking for a bit of advice.

I recently had replaced the complete electric fitting of the lifting mechanism and motor etc. in passenger side. Yesterday my drivers side cable has snapped, do you no if its possible to replace just the lifter set and cables and attach to the existing motor, if yes how easy or difficult is it.

I ask this because the lifting frame is quite easy to find online and so are the motors but not many come readily assembled.

My car BTW is a 53 plate Octavia estate 1.9tdi.

Thanks

Ebay. Buy a repair kit. This gives you the cables and other plastic bits. Did my passenger side and its fine

I bought a regulator minus motor for about £30 delivered off the bay. It was a new pattern part. Motor was a doddle to swap over.

Cheers guys , my window is currently wedged with a scredriver and not attached at all to the mechanism. will take the motor and mech out and play at disassembling it. will give me a clue if I am up to fitting whichever part i decide to buy.

Thanks for the advice
