Amundsen Postcodes

Featured Replies

Hi,

I don't use my sat nav very often, bur the twice I have used it recently it wont recognise the postcode I need.

It usually works fine with 7 digital postcodes, but not recently..

You get to the screen, enter for example, SA62 6 then it wont give you the option for pressing P.. Though I know the postcode is correct.

I then have to enter the town or village instead.

Do I need an update?

Thanks

I suppose you are all like me - you have no idea?

Amusing to me that St Davids isn't in the welsh map if it is just out of date.

Can you not add it as a destination / favourite like you can on a tom tom?

Or we have the Columbus, which has it!

It's certainly true on Columbus (which might well use the same database) that the 7-digit postcode coverage is patchy - some areas have good codes, others seem limited to 5 digits still.

Plus there is always the possibility of errors on individual codes, new/changed codes etc

Hi, thanks for the reply. I was just using that postcode as an example St.. David's is only 5 miles form me, so I think I can get there

It's just annoying, it happened twice last Sunday and I had to revert to choose the town & guess a street address. I just needed the general area.

I'm sure my old £60 TomTom would have coped!

I have a new Columbus so can not help you but it might be worth a call to your local dealer and see if your software needs an update. You'll probably need your info for a settings before you call?

Thanks fellow 140 DSG owner, only a lowly SE here!

Still a nice car!

I tried a CW (Crewe) postcode last year and the Columbus didn't like it. The code is correct from the website I used. The only way was to put in the road name, which it did accept and find.

Ah! I'll give it a try. :sun:

Where do you enter the postcode ? I can only see country/town/house number ?

If I remember correctly you just start to enter the postcode SA69 etc and it accepts it and gives you options.

Not sure about your RNS but with the Columbus you enter the post code in the address line.
