skoda paint warranty

Featured Replies

Today i rang my local skoda dealer in colchester and asked about the paint warranty they give which was 10 or 12 years or something mine being a 2004 qualifies either way, But my fab has started to bubble up and started to rust around the arches, The lady on the phone was saying to me have i had my fabia serviced regulary by skoda i said no it was done elsewhere and the answer i got was oohh i dont no if they paint warranty people will accept that as its not been serviced with us, now surely my problem is with the paint and bodywork not where its been serviced its a completly different thing surely, that was my argument. Anyway after ten mins arguing about this i got a appointment to see someone monday about the paint, is there anyone on here had a similar experience like this or anyone who has used the paint warranty and if so what to say to try push it through to get accepted, any help would appreciated cheers.

if you have no luck try different dealers some may be more helpful than others

Paint and corrosion warranties are two totally different things, paint was 3 years and corrosion usually means perforation of the panel from inside out. I think that you'll be extremely lucky if you get anything out of Skoda under warranty.

I phoned up other day. Paint 3 years rust is 10 years. But rust only applies if it comes from under paint and not caused by stone chip or rubbing.

yer mine is stone chipped and no rubbing either it may be a long shot but its got to be worth a go

If the paint is broken the claim will be rejected as it will more than likely be caused by a stone chip. If the paint has bubbled up but not broken the paint then you have a better case. If your dealer won't help you try SUK customer services.

I got a spot of rust at very back of driver side rear arch, but its where it joins bumper so i think a stone may have got in and rubbed. I phoned skoda and the woman explained everything they obviously know there is weak points and cover there backs. But to be fair 10 years is good my old fiesta started rusting bad before it was that old.
