Just been to the dealer to view my Octavia - it arrived yesterday so is still covered a bit in wrap but it's looking good. I had a sit in and a bit play with it...must say the Canton is impressive, I took an SD card to try it out...very clear and even at 3 quarters volume was far too loud (ha ha)....great first impression of it I must say.

One thing I noticed is that the cover art of a song doesn't appear if being played from the playlist, but it does display if you select the actual track on it's own...could be a playlist issue perhaps - anyone come across this and have a fix?

I got that carried away with all the gadgets I forgot to start the damn thing up - I know, bloody idiot eh!

I've just sorted out my free 7 day insurance and was very impressed with the Skoda lady who gave me a very good quote for when my insurance is due for renewal in Sept...RAC are going to have to do something to beat it come August....it cost me another £15 on top of my existing policy plus a £25 admin fee for the extra 2 months!

I'm picking it up at lunchtime next Friday, it's the earliest I can get there given work and my salesman is off on Thurs too.

I checked the sd card for the maps and it wasn't in the slot but the dealer said they have them in the parts dept and will sort it for Friday. My mats were in the boot ready for fixing.

Did you use iTunes or just copy the music??

I have a real problem as my acer pc won't recognise the sdhd card. Will try and copy it via somebody else's pc and an external drive.

Really looking forward to the dab so I can listen to talk sport properly.

I copied the music to the sd card...each album sits under the artist folder. I don't use itunes, just set it up via windows media player and saved the playlist as a M3U file.

When did you order your car ? Reason i ask is you said mats in boot, some people in this forum said that boot mats had to be back ordered.

Sorry, I meant floor mats were in the boot ready to be fitted in the cabin. For info though I placed my order on April 1st.

Plebs don't buy Skoda's, only well informed, thinking persons who appreciate good value and high quality, irrespective of what toys you spec, you know you are getting more for your money than the comparable VW or Seat purchaser!

Well said (Matt Pez), I'm also waiting delivery of a 1.2 SE and feel no shame what so ever. My choice was based on budget but I know I'm getting far more for my money with the Octavia over all the other models I looked at. No matter what car you buy there is always a better model, so my philosophy is just get the best you can for what you can afford, I think I've done this with the 1.2 SE.

Went back and checked my b-pillars today - non chrome and they're ok....different colour to Stokey's (mine are black, rubbery things) and look fine.

Asked about the netting in the back and they're going to sort it and agreed front mud flap fit for £45 as per the brochure.

SD card for the sat nav is in parts as these are sent seperately and will be in the car for Friday.

Picking up at lunchtime today...gonna be a long 4 hours at work this morning!
