they look a right mess, flippin garages!

well bodyshops will charge around 150ish a panel here, so i would say 200-300 at a guess depeding who you use.

Hi , I would get that into a body shop for two new outer sills and get to that corrosion before it eats the floor away , you should be able to get the sills replaced and spot welded in and painted for around £500

is there anyone on this site who deals with this sort of stuff? thanks

Where abouts are u in the uk ? Any good bodyshop will be able to sort it out just be warned if you just grind off the corrosion and paint over it , it will come back its always to replace the rusy parts of the metal .

over kill i think :giggle: get under and getting beating it see if its still solid my sills are totally flat like yours. going from the pics hardly anything rust wise. if its solid and gets an mot waste of money replacing imo

Well I just put it threw mot and It was ok lol, so shall I just bash it out my self? Save me so much money, it's got a little bit of corrosion but solid is there any treatment I could use? Thanks

Straighten then out best you can then clean then up with a wire brush and hammerite or equivelent them

Hi All,

Just had my MK1 cambelt changed (from a 'VAG specialist') and my car came back with distorted sills and a flexed out fender. He's denying any involvement in the damage (of course). From the pics, does this seem an easy fix? I particularly p1ssed because of all people he should know where to jack the car.

Cowboys :(

Not sure how easy that would be to repair. Who is the 'VAG Specialist'?! Did you pay the bill in full, and did you pay on a credit or debit card?

Have you got any recent-ish photos before the work was done that would show the sills were in tact? I would go to a bodyshop or two for a quote, then consider your next steps. Are the garage a member of any trade bodies?

I have had similar issues with garages jacking the car in the wrong place, but luckily no major damage to mine (I stopped the idiot with the trolley jack just in time!). I've also had fun and games getting reimbursed for dodgy work done by a 'VAG Specialist' who is a Good Garage Scheme member. The GGS were useless (sided with the garage even with overwhelming evidence against them) and my credit card company reimbursed me.
