Ok so im not saying this is a good idea, i know it isnt, but since ive done it now it might put some minds at rest when the fuel light comes on.

Had my guage saying zero miles until empty.oops!!!

Filled up & squeezed in 42.4 litres, so still 2.6 litres remaining.phew!!!!

So the guages are pretty impressively accurate.

I think you maybe had more than 2.6 litres left.

The tank is maybe 45 litres, but its more like 50 plus litres that can be squeezed in with fuel up the tube.

Yeah, they're pretty pessimistic when calculating the range. I assumed this was on purpose to prevent you running out of fuel, but could be wrong as it is very inaccurate.

I was freaking out recently driving to the garage with the range at 5 miles. Filled it up and couldn't even squeeze 40 ltrs into her! :wonder:

i've had an extra 30 miles out my monte after hitting "zero" before... i think its where the float hits the bottom and theres still fuel left in the tank but not enought to keep the float up.

My vrs said the range was 20 miles on Saturday morning. I squeezed 52.56 litres into it by pressing the wee button at the side of the filler hole. I was going for a long drive so I wasn't worried about the expansion space.
