cam sensor error code

Featured Replies

Can anyone help with this fault code :-

19463 Camshaft Position sensor (g40)

No signal P3007-35-00

Naturally I changed the said sensor but even after clearing it has stayed on . Just pings straight back up whilst running and plugged in.

Checked the 3 pins on the plug end and all show a reading so surely the plug and wiring are fine.

Is there anything else I should look for or have I been supplied a faulty sensor?

Is the pick up ring still attached to the back of the cam pulley? Should have 12V, 5V and an earth at the sensor.

I will have to look for the ring.

Can you explain the 12v 5v bit please. Sorry just not that clued up lol I know it has three wires going in on the plug side which all brought up readings but im no auto electrician. I was just looking for readings to ensure no breaks in circuit really.

The blue/black wire is the 12V sensor supply from the ECU power relay via fuse 24. There should be 12V between this wire and ground.

The other two wires come direct from the ECU. Neither are connected to ground.

The brown/black wire is the internal ECU ground. The should be aproximately 12V between this wire and the POSITIVE battery terminal. Check continuity to ECU.

The white/yellow MAY have voltage. Check continuity to ECU. If there is no voltage on this wire, it doesn't indicate that this wire is faulty.
