Been browsing this site for quite a while now, I just need a bit of advice; I'm looking to buy a fabia vrs diesel in the near future and I'm just wondering what are the good and bad about one, and what are the things to look out for when looking at one.

How much you got to spend

not much wrong with them just as you would with any car go over the service history and paperwork but i suppose

1. check cambelt change
   
2. rear door seals (can leak but easy fix)
   
3. unusual noises from engine (on test drive)
   
4. rattles (in car)
   

just make sure everything works, but any doubts then just find another

How much you got to spend

Erm around 3500, 4000 tbh. Not really too sure how much I would need to pick up a reasonable one, with alight mileage.

Spend some time looking in this section as these questions pop up quite a lot. You should find what you need.

I'd say a good service history is hugely important.. preferably dealer servicing.

My car was serviced by its previous owner's by halfords. Yea this gave it a service history but looking over the car after I bought it there was no way that it was actually serviced correctly because of the oil level, condition of the air filter which was totally blocked and a couple of other bits!
