wheel spacers?

Featured Replies

Hi,

am considering using a set of these; the car is being lowered by apprx 20mm and i figured that a corresponding wider track (say +10mm) would both make it handle better and also make it look sexier.

anyone have any experiences? they'll go on with the stock spider wheels.

ta!

In order to make best use of a wider track you ideally need adjustable front camber

eg R32 wishbone setup - give +/- 1.5 degrees of adjustability, in addition to all the other benefits they offer

ps

make sure any spacer you get in double hub centric (eg retains outer locating ring - makes for better/simpler fitment)

From 8mm up woulds (eg H&R 8mm)

yeah i heard that they were the trick. They dont sell by brand, so can anyone tell me what the stats are for vrs wheels i.e. pcd / offset etc so i can search them out. Also is there an advantage to buying bolt through ones (i.e one long bolt through wheel and spacer) over bolt-ON spacers?

5x100 centre bore 57.1 (iirc) though check this.

bolt through usually go up to 15mm perhaps 20mm. Anything more you bolt the spacer to the hub then the wheel to the spacer.

as long as using the correct length bolts, both setup work well.

you do need hubcentric, but i assume you know this already..

You'd be fine with 10mm, could go bigger on the rear if you wanted.
