Want to begin modifying so will start a project thread in a month or so.

So I want to start modifying the fab but I'm a little unsure where to begin or even if its in good enough condition.

I popped off the hose that goes into the egr valve I believe then come round the left hand side and down. There a little oil in there is this normal.

So to begging modding do you think I should go visual or performance first.

I'm thinking coilovers spray the wheels or some new ones. I am also going to wrap it but can't decide on a colour lol

I don't know of its been remapped or not but there a fair bit of black smoke.

I would love to see 200+ how much does it roughly cost to get there and is it still reliable I actually love this car only has it a while but really like it and love diesels. Gone right off of petrels for some reason :(

Cheers for reading people

If anyone's around the Kent / Medway area and are into the same sorta thing drop me a message

Stage 1 remap will see about 170ish bhp anymore than that you need new turbo fmic and probably single mass flywheel and clutch to reach that sort of power

personally i would get the car in good order before modifying .... have a good look round before committing to everything .... dependent on age / mileage you may have to start with suspension first as it may be getting worn .... then possible brakes and finally POOWWWEEERRRR :p

Just a quick one when I drive accelerate any amount I get a sound I wouldn't say whistle more like a very faint siren type sound like the beginning ermmmm to explain just imagine the part that goes woooooooo ( hate trying to explain noises always risk looking a numpty ) any ideas :( thank you

Uh oh. Police siren sound is the turbo on its way out. You'd best start looking for a replacement and taking it easy in case it does die.

As for modding I'd start from the ground up. Decent tyres, poly bushes, suspension and rear anti roll bar. Upgraded brakes

Then you can look to increase the power. As mentioned a remap can see up to 170-175. Any more it starts to get expensive.

Hybrid turbo will be about £7-800, front mount intercooler between £250-£800 and then upgraded clutch and single mass flywheel will be about £1000. A d then mapping will be a Further £250+

An aftermarket exhaust isn't needed as the standard one is good for 200bhp but a decat will help spool the turbo quicker

Oh lord don't sound great is there a bigger turbo off of any other car that I could replace it with like I had a Leon Cupra before with a ko3s and the typical upgrade was a ko4 from the Cupra r as if my turbo dies I may as well upgrade :(

Pd150 golf turbo

Is it direct fit?? Make much of a difference mate?

U just have to clock the intercooler side to fit correct and get it mapped in the 150 is alot stronger think people say u can see about 190bhp
