But that was about your new Bus Pass :giggle:

You can just polish and then wax if you want

If your using a product with fillers, like Autoglym Super Resin Polish, then make sure the wax you use on top does not have any cleaners in it or it will remove the fillers.

Cleaners in wax?

I'm not aware of any unless you mean liquid polishes that are all in one products

Wax should be nothing but that...Car Wax

Quite right ChrisRs they are not true waxes but I certainly found it confusing when the products are named as waxes for example Meguiars Cleaner Liquid Wax.

Yes ....very misleading.. a mate of mine fell for it too!!

Hi I just cleaned the car, confused??? I cleaned with auto gleam wash. I then waxed. I then finished with auto gleam sealant... Have I done it the wrong way?????? Looks bloody spiffing!! But I'm now worried I've messed it up??

Wash, polish and then wax

and then you can apply a sealant on top of the wax if you want or just leave it waxed

seeing as you only need to wax every 6 months or so, i usually wash, clay, wash again, polish and then wax

Not if you used AG super resin polish as AG say you can use AG extra gloss finish on top of that, though normally if you're going to put a sealant on most recommend the sealer goes on before the wax. Still confused.... I am! So I just use AG high dev wax :-)

Golden rule/tip.........One should always apply sealer BEFORE wax as it needs to bond to the paint surface

Should I spray/power wash it down and start again then?

No...When it stops beading.. Wash it well and clay the car to remove any residue and then start again

Which one do you recommend??

I used Turtle Wax Ice as it was my first time

I waxed 4 months ago and it's still beading very well apart from the rear bumper/boot, due to soot from the exhaust i'm guessing

Get some Collinite 845.... Turtle Wax is poor imo

It was when I first got my Fabia and my first time waxing so i thought i'd buy the best cheap option on the market, it's not too bad for the price and the 'Ice' one is slightly better then the normal Turtle Wax

probably will buy something better eventually but it will do for now, at least until I finish it all
