pd150 vs pd160 hardware

Featured Replies

hi guys,

what are the differences except the software? same turbo? same injectors?

Bigger FMIC, turbos have different part numbers but no idea on/if anything is different.

Pd160 have an extra 0.05bar in the mid range along with increased fueling in the mapping.

I think there is a difference in the spindle in the turbo but as to what it is i have no idea.

Fromt what i have read the PD150 is more reliable.

Also there is a hard top pipe on the PD 160.

Pd150 rules :D

Tbh i dont understand how the ibiza cupra tdi got 160bhp / bigger fmic / 4 pot brakes and the leon cupra tdi got all the plop!

Guess the leons star was the cupra r :(

The 4 pots are a curse to replace the pads on... thank yourself lucky :p

But the ap 4 pot calipers do look the part :p

The Leon pd150 ha a very very Simalur sizes intercooler if its the Cupra not the newer fr newer fr has side mount

The mapping is slightly diffrent

The turbo inlet is slightly larger on the pd160 that's the only diffrance on the turbo

Injectors the same just diffrent codes and a slightly higher flow rate something like 0.018

And that's it.

Plus the gearboxes are diffrent ratios

The Cupra pd160 has the closest ratios out of all the pd ranges givin better pull through out the gears.

Not trying to start any argument but its the gear box that makes a big diffrance in the pd160 that why I pd160 ibiza standerd would still out qwarter mile a stage 1 pd130

Leon fr tdi 150 (replaced the cupra) also has the same fmic, looks like a rad

My fr 150 bay with the pipework route down to fmic (not side mount)

Ok well I was wrong about the fr then lol didn't know it was still a front mount like the Cupra dueto it being an fr I know the fr replaced the Cupra.

exactly, the mk4 Cupra was the sportiest Ibiza whereas the mk1 Leon had a Cupra R above the Cupra/FR. clearly they realised the Leon Cupra was a bit of a duffer and made the R... :p

Just a name change essentially... Although most believe the fr is below the cupra so adds to the q'ness of mine :)

Just an fr ;)
