Hi. I'm sure I am going over old ground but can anyone tell me if there is an installer in Hertfordshire who can install the Microphone and activate the bluetooth phone functionality on the Amundsen Sat Nav on the Octavia Blackline VRS Estate? Alternatively how easy is it to do yourself? Cheers everyone.

A doddle. You have to order the VW Mic and Wiring loom and find someone with VCDS to enable the BT module in the headunit.

I paid a VAG specialist 30 quid to get the BT enabled (also said if I wanted anything else doing at a later date he'd do something else for me free of charge).

A mate of mine fitted the mic and loom. Mic goes in the front courtesy light cover so is completely OEM.

All in cost me 80 quid and is effectively GSM2 prep without voice control. Why on earth Skoda UK didnt put this on from the factory is beyond me.

.....oh if youre that way enclined fairly easy to do youraelf; Im just not particularly mechanically minded and wasnt keen on taking my 2 week old car with 400 miles on the clock apart myself; left it all to the experts.

Got mine done at a local garage the day I picked it up. Again, can't understand why Skoda didn't fit it in the first place. Cost me around £30 and the guy even enabled the large mph display for free at a later date. Nice.

Thanks for all the info and advice so far. Having followed the steps on the sdenny link I considered doing it myself but thought i'd find out how much it would cost to get my local Skoda garage to do it for me. One of their technicians said he had done it for another customer but he said I needed to check a few things first. He asked me to look under the driver's seat to see if there was a "black box" which he said was the "BT phone controller". When I checked under the seat there was nothing there. Is what he's saying right as I couldn't see any reference to this mystery black box on sdenny's link????

The blue tooth modual is built into the blacklines amundsen+ so no need for the black box. Hope thatvhelps.

Just follow my "HOW TO" it's easy.

Another thread to remind me I still haven't done this!!! Had the blackline since Jan, mic and loom still in the glove box! Must pull my finger out! *writes on to do list*
