Have a few things I would like to change on my Monte. Is there anyone in The Highlands with a VCDS cable and software that would be willing to help me out? I can make it worth your while with beer or a few Scottish pounds.

I wanted to activate the large digital speedo, the dial 'sweeper' and the alarm chirp when locking/unlocking.

Can you activate the binnacle lights to come on with the ignition and can the tail lights be activated to come on with the DRLs so I can continue using my DRLs in light rain?

Jonro the first three should be straight forward,

The binnacle lights should also be possible but the tail lights sounds more difficult to me.

You should try posting that question in the VCDS or Fabia section, one of the members is bound to know if it it possible.

The only reason I bought the cable was to activate the large speedo and Bluetooth on my Octavia and have a play on my Mums Superb.

At least you know the offer is there.

The tail light option is possible on mk 2 octavia, but not on yeti or vw transporter. Not tried a Fabia yet.

The garage is going to activate the chirp for me and the anti hijack but they tried to charge me a diagnostic hook up fee. I've told them that those options should have been offered to me before I took delivery, especially the anti hijack.

The binnacle lights is something I really want and the large speedo.

If anyone has done the tail lights I would be interested to know. Km

Also, what cable and software would I need to buy to do all these things?

the software is free but a VCDS cable is a couple of hundred quid

b ) I'll be able to figure out how to use it and c) if I can hide the receipt from my girlfriend! lol

It would would be cheaper spending fuel to come and see one of us with a cable :lol:
