High pitched squealing/squeaking from belt area

Annoying high pitched sound coming from left hand side, near belts. Can`t work out whether its tensioner or alternator. It seems to go away or get alot quieter when the car starts to move, accelerator is pressed. When idling you can hear it faintly from inside the car, lift the bonnet and its irritating and very high pitched. The car is at 97k.

Anyone any ideas??
