Hi,

I have just baught a usb cable for use with VCDS.

When I do theVCDS test it passes ok.

When I querry a module i get an error reporting no communication.

Any ideas?

I have an OCTY MK1 90BHP.

Did you buy a genuine cable? Is it just one particular controller you can't read or is it any?

Suggest dodgy cable....

Hi Folks,

the below might help. I copied the setup from a friends cable below and set made sure that the cable in control panel was set on the same com port in VCDS.

Look in the device manager and check Windows hasn't randomly assigned the cable to port 17 or another equally useful one.
