S3 upper strut brace

Featured Replies

I have just fitted upper and lower S3 strut braces to my Vrs, can someone else who has fitted these please let me know how you did it. I drilled through the turret but when trying to tighten the bolts i found that it was nearly impossible to get then tight enough. And the bolt heads also seem to sink into the rubber suspension top thus stopping a socket to stay on. I have noticed that it has improved the handling, (mostly by reducing understeer, nearly to the point of oversteer becoming a problem) but i am not sure if i have got the best out of it as i am sure it is not tight enough to stop any movement.

Does this picture help at all?

When K fitted mine he removed the front wheels so he had better access to the insides of the turrets.

I dont recall any problems with the rubber suspension top when I did mine, the bolts are really tight.

The rubber bit i am on about is actually on the underneath of the turret, the bolt head sunk into this thus stopping my socket from staying on. It could be plastic i suppose, i'll have a better look later and let you know.

Hi! You fitted a lower S3 brace as well? For the front or rear? Fits nicely?

Any idea on the part number? :D
