Removed Rear Badges - Can Still See Outline! Help!

Featured Replies

I debadged the rear of my car but you can still see the outline of where the badges were. I've tried polishing (by hand) and t-cutting it out but no luck. You can actually feel a slight bump where the edges were so assume i need something quite aggressive to remove it. Any ideas anyone?

Cheers, Dave

Your best bet is to find some one local with a machine polisher that can machine these marks out for you as it may require some wet sanding.

When you say you can still see the outline do you mean there is still some glue showing or the paint has faded

.I have just done mine with no problems

If there's something on the surface then you need some tar and glue remover or a clay bar to get it off.

No glue left. Got all that off. Theres a very faint outline of the lettering still there and you can feel a very slight ridge. Not sure how it got there or what it is. Getting the car paintwork looked at soon so will probably just see if it can be removed by that...

Debadged the rear of my car last week, had the same issue. Clay bar did the trick although it did put up a fight, bit of Autoglym SRP after smoothed it off nicely..

Tar remover got the glue off but that faint brown outline was still there.

A clay, polish and wax later.. All gone and silky smooth..

As I said clay bar did most of the work got rid of the residue. Then after the polish, Its as if nothing was ever there..
