yeah I had the call today saying that cant fix it and its in the post on the way back to me! and vw skoda and audi are quoting £1490.

I see a German ECU remanufacturer on Ebay had one listed but the listing ended. Perhaps contact them?

What a joke that price from the dealer though. I mean, that ECU will have at most £100 worth of bits in it. Extortion.

Failing that, how about approaching people with Superbs which are being broken for parts? I can see several on ebay at the moment.

Hello I have completely drained the cooling system to replace the coolant in my 1.4 MPI. To refill my Haynes manual says to remove the temperature sensor from the cylinder head to allow air to escape. I pulled out the clip and then lifted out the sensor which came out by pulling. I then filled the system until coolant was seen in the sensor hole. I then the replaced the sensor but noticed coolant leaking from it. On inspection noticed that the sensor was able to move up and down with the clip in

Evening, just looking to see if anyone is experiencing the same issue as me with my Karoq 1.5 Tsi (73 plate)…. So the car has perhaps half a dozen times or more cut out completely when slowing down, no stall / kangaroo or otherwise, power simply gone, resulting in me having to restart the car when in a rolling motion. Very unnerving especially with traffic approaching. I’ve tried to recreate the event on quiet roads with no success so I’ve no idea what action causes this. I had thought

Been here a little under 7 years. Great forum, I'm sure I'll hang around still but I've moved my octy on now for a VW Tiguan. The Octavia was a cracking car, reliable too. I took it from 47k to 120k miles, and it really didn't disappoint. The only issue it had was the heater matrix, which I had replaced eventually after freezing hands in winter!! It will pass to a new owner with full service history (Independent Vasstechnik in Eastbourne who are just great with all VW group cars). I've left
