Goodwood

Featured Replies

Just received an invitation to go to Goodwood on Sunday 14th July. Seems like I might get a chance to have a go in the new vRS. The experience will probably be wasted on me since I'm not likely to fly around the track but I do love my vRS and am likely to eventually get the Mk III in the next 12 months or so. Is anyone else going?

I've got some tickets on the way to attend on the Sunday! Looking forward to Goodward! :)

Hope to see you there. Not sure if I'll go in my vRS or my Yeti :hi:

Friday for me

Too expensive for me!

Too expensive for me!

The locals don't call it the Festival of Greed for nothing! But for any true petrol-head it's a must do event. Just means you might not be able to feed the family for a few days!

Thursday for me at moment, trying to get some free tickets to one day of the festival proper.

Is indeed a good day out for petrol heads, but even so I don't consider it that great value for money.

But still people go there. My girlfriend lives in Havant and works near Chichester, She always arranges to work from home or has a few days off during Festival as she drives past Goodwood to get to work and it is hell when the festival is on.

...and I will no doubt be adding to the congestion on Friday! Best to get there really early - I'm normally at the entrance no later than 08:00 hrs, preferably a bit earlier than that, and then leave by 15:30 hrs to avoid the mass exodus.

I also have friends in Chichester! Lovely place to live except when FoS or Revival (1st weekend in September) is on.

free tickets in the telegraph for the Thursday!

As for too expensive. I'm not sure it is. When you compare it against other days out its not far off and IMO there is soo much to see its worth it. Go to london, on the london eye and you will have spent just as much.

Just got in from work to find a letter from Skoda my doorstep with 2 tickets to the FOS & the unveiling of the new Vrs. Looking forward to my 1st FOS but not the pain of travelling there with every1 else despite me living quite close. I hope a few more of use get tickets so we can meet up.

Two tickets through my door today for Thursday.

Looking forward to it!

Two tickets through my door today for Thursday. But also need to take my little one.

I got two tickets today too!

Don't know if I can make it.

Goodwood is a lovely estate, been there a number of times. Was born in Chichester and lived in Sussex from birth until in my late 20's. FoS is a good day out and would recommend any car enthusiast goes at least once but it gets a bit manic and is bloody horrendous if the weathers bad. Also everything food and drink wise costs a packet, not a cheap outing.

West Sussex is a beautiful county and the Goodwood estate is in magnificent surroundings. I do thoroughly recommend both FoS and Revival, both events superbly organised - not cheap but you do get what you pay for.

Got two tickets this morning for Thursdays launch of the vRS. Was thinking of going to make a trip down and visit family down there so will make my first trip to FOS with my free tickets. Wonder what the gifts will be?

Just bear in mind that the Thursday event is not the full FoS experience, that is only Friday - Sunday.
