Boot Volume

This is from an old French brochure which explains the boot sizes nicely with seats in various positions (without and with a spare):

So it is clear how cheeky it is to say the boot is 510 litres...  that shows three seats in the back but with the outer seats in their most forward position to get to 510 litres!!!  Meaning NO-ONE can sit in them (well people with legs anyway - baby seats will be fine) yet you have a big boot.

^ Yesterday, I at last managed to get my rear seats to slide.  (They had refused to budge, but I didn't want to make a special trip to the dealer.)  Quite surprising how much more space (visually) there is in the boot as a result - a useful alternative to the alternative 'tumble'.

Ed: Didn't proof-read, did I?!

There is one more method not shown in the French brochure:  To just have your back seats in their most upright (and uncomfortable for passengers) position.  This also adds some extra space to the boot.

Ahhhh now thats way convinient for us when carrying our dogs. It can mean more space for them in the boot hence more confort. Havent got my Yeti yet but it keeps getting better to my eyes every day. Looks like when I finally have it it will be an "our dreams come true" kind of car for us :)

This sounds like a trivial increase, but it isn't, especially for boxed or cased items. And with a blanket or some other covering to fill the gap between the back of the seats and the parcel shelf, it keeps your stuff out of sight.
